Mufti Mudassir Owais

Mufti Mudassir Owais (may Allah preserve him) is the teacher and resident scholar at ICF. He has been with the Islamic Center of  Fremont since 1999 and has been instrumental in launching, guiding and running several programs at the institute, including the Iqra Hifz program, and also teaches several other courses on a daily basis.

 Mufti Mudassir completed his Hifz (memorization) of the Holy Quran at Madrasa Taleemul Quran, Bangalore. He then studied at Sabeelur Rashad, Bangalore for 8 years and completed the highly regarded Dars Nizami curriculum along with Daur-e-Hadith. Thereafter, he studied at the renowned Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband for 1 year from where he completed Daur-e-Hadith. He then pursued higher studies and specialization at Darul Uloom Hyderabad where he studied for 1 year to complete the course Takhassus fil-Ifta and was granted the degree of Mufti. He has Ijazah in Hadith from Mufti Ashraf Ali sb.

After completing his studies in 1995, Mufti Mudassir started teaching several courses, including Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqah, at Darul Uloom Shah Waliullah, Bangalore. 

Mufti Mudassir currently heads many scholastic efforts and is a counselor and mentor for religious seekers of all ages, teaching both the dedicated student of knowledge and the casual learner. He currently resides in Fremont, CA with his family. His lectures and discourses can be found at Bayaans

Shaykh Tameem Ahmadi

Shaykh Tameem Ahmadi (may Allah preserve him) is a Bay Area native and a Newark Memorial High School graduate. After initially studying at San Francisco State University, he went on to pursue the higher calling of sacred knowledge. He engaged in a rigorous curriculum of religious knowledge, studying under some of the foremost scholars of North America, Africa, & South Asia.

During his scholarly training, Shaykh Tameem has been granted numerous ijazahs, surpassing the equivalent of a master’s degree in the Islamic sciences including Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, Tafsir, Usul, Arabic grammar & its branches, spirituality, and more. Additionally, he has been granted ijazah with isnad in numerous books of ahadith including the Al-Sihah al-Sittah, the 6 most authentic collections of hadith. The illustrious scholars from whom he attained ijazahs of hadith include Mufti Taqi Usmani and Maulana Salimullah Khan.

After completing the highly regarded Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and being granted the Shahadah Alimiyyah(recognition of Islamic scholarship), Shaykh Tameem immersed himself in the study of the Islamic Spiritual Sciences of the Heart under the private tutelage of one of the most honorable spiritual masters, focusing on the subject of Tazkiyah & Tarbiyah (Purification of the Heart). With the authority to teach and transmit, he returned to the Bay Area under the advice and suggestion of his shaykh.

Since his return to the Bay Area, Shaykh Tameem has dedicated himself to teaching and benefiting the community with what he had mastered abroad. He currently teaches classes on Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, Tazkiya, and Arabic grammar. He is a regular lecturer at numerous masajid and halaqahs throughout Northern California. He has translated numerous booklets and articles and continues to strive in his literary efforts.

Shaykh Tameem is fluent in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and English and currently resides in Fremont, CA with his family.
