School Publication
Ilm Academy produces original publications created and written by the school’s young scholars. Borne of the concept of active literary participation of the students in the creation of books that they can forever treasure, these are vastly entertaining keepsakes not only for the young authors themselves but for any reader.
Ilm Academy publications are compiled on the basis of creative merit as well as for the original ingenuity of the compositions. When motivated, the imaginations of children know no bounds. Our books showcase that imagination in these delightful collections. Edited and compiled by Irum Sarfaraz, the middle-school Language Arts teacher, a writer and editor by profession, original cover art by Bay Area artist Tahira Aftab, and with first grade, full cover printing, these books are an absorbing and entertaining addition to any bookshelf.

Ilma Voices is the school magazine of The Ilm Academy School in Fremont, California. The school takes great pride in its academics, especially the creative writing skills of its students, and showcases their talents in multiple student compilations, including Ilma Voices, throughout each academic year. All reflections, opinions, and essays in Ilma Voices are written exclusively by the students. The work of the students is true testament to a holistic education where students are encouraged to align their thought processes with the rapidly changing world around them through positive and meaningful written dialogue. The cornucopia of topics, reflections, and opinions in Ilma Voices would undoubtedly be a delightful read for the entire family!
Ilm Academy Yearbook 2024
'Ilm Academy Yearbook 2024' is a walk through the year 2023-24 in a pictorial tribute to the successes and accomplishments of the students from grades K to 11. The yearbook also showcases creative writing from middle and high school students in the form of original quotes and short fictional pieces penned by the graduating 11th grades. The yearbook invites readers to gain an introduction to Ilm's students and their academic year 2023-24. In a nutshell, it was nothing short of spectacular!
Ilm Anthology: Vol. IX April 2024
For the ninth consecutive year, the outstandingly creative, poetic flare of the students of Ilm Academy, Fremont, is showcased in the school's annual poetry anthology, Ilm Anthology-Vol. 9. Continuing one of the most cherished literary traditions of the school, this year's school poetry anthology brings forth heart-warming and touching poems from the students on the theme of 'Education'. As in every anthology, the students also explore other themes and ideas in poetic expression besides the main theme. Poetry has always remained a significant platform for the conveyance of a writer’s innermost reflections and deliberations about his world and the individuals with whom he interacts. The universal, foundational purpose of poetry, regardless of culture and language, has remain unchanged over the centuries. Ilm Academy’s anthologies brings to fore poetry with a fresh and invigorating perspective—the manner in which children and teenagers view the world around them. Ilm Academy publications are produced by Sapienza Educational Publishing, a division of Ilm Academy, Fremont.

My World Has Changed Overnight
The present situation is an event of an unfathomable magnitude which will go down in history as one of the worst pandemics ever faced by the human civilization. Within just a few months it has altered the lives of millions around the globe in ways no one ever thought imaginable or possible. It has brought people to reflect upon the frailty and vulnerability of their condition, and adults are not the only one who are doing the pondering. Children from every society have been equally affected, their lives jolted in a thousand different ways. ‘My World Has Changed Overnight: Reflections’ is a collection of thought provoking, sensitive, and insightful essays from the students of Ilm Academy, a private school in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. The students may be from Ilm Academy but their feelings and emotions regarding the upheaval in the norms of their lives may be the same as any other child in the world. The deeply touching, profoundly perceptive, and astute narratives illustrate how the present condition is creating indelible emotional scars upon the minds of the future generations.

Ilm Anthology-Vol. V is a collection of poems from the students of Ilm Academy. In addition to ‘Respect’ the students also explore other themes and ideas in poetic expression. Poetry has always remained a significant platform for the conveyance of a writer’s innermost reflections and deliberation about his world and his interactions with individuals in that world. The foundational purpose of poetry remains unchanged over the centuries. Ilm Academy’s annual anthology brings to fore poetry with a fresh and invigorating perspective—the manner in which children see the world around them.

Continuing its tradition of yearly school anthology, the school compiled and published its fourth volume of Ilm Anthology Vol. IV at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. The collection of original poems by all grade levels is a delightful collection to the existing Ilm Academy publications. Ilm Anthology Vol. IV is available for purchase through the school office.
Ilm Academy Anthology ––– Vol. III
The students at Ilm Academy proudly presented the third volume of Ilm Anthology in summer 2018. The collection of poems reflected a more seasoned approach to the year’s theme ‘We Make a Difference’. A delight to read, the collection proves yet again the contemplative level of the students.

Alhamdullillah, the second volume of the school anthology is already in the works and will insha Allah be available for purchase by soon. More expansive than the first and also covering a distinct theme this year, ‘Gratitude to Allah’, the second volume will be just as engaging as the first. When Kids Get Creative
When Kids Get Creative is a hilarious, out of the ball park, witty collection of compositions and stories from the Ilm Academy middle-schoolers. Spun entirely out of common, and not-so-common phrases, this book is bound to keep the reader entertained for hours. Ilma Voices
Ilma Voices is the bimonthly school magazine of Ilm Academy. Work for all departments of the magazine is written entirely by the children. The magazine includes the creative effort from all grade levels and covers a diverse range of creative fields such as poetry, opinion, and reflective essays along with some humor. The refreshing approach to the multitude of topics included in each magazine render them a timeless keepsake despite the date on the cover. Young Authors
In its second year now, the Young Author’s creative writing exercise is practiced by many schools as a means to foster inventive, imaginative, and innovative literary writing habits in children of all grade levels. Fully written and illustrated by children, the books are judged on quality of writing and presentation. Winning books are awarded at the award assembly.
Our Collective Wisdom
When children are encouraged in a manner that propels into motion their interest, they produce stellar results. We Write! Vol. I
We Write is the compilation of Ilm Academy middle school students Young Author projects. The sterling works produced by the students are in book form to read and enjoy by the entire family.
