Ilm Academy produces original publications created and written by the school’s young scholars. Borne of the concept of active literary participation of the students in the creation of books that they can forever treasure, these are vastly entertaining keepsakes not only for the young authors themselves but for any reader.
Ilm Academy publications are compiled on the basis of creative merit as well as for the original ingenuity of the compositions. When motivated, the imaginations of children know no bounds. Our books showcase that imagination in these delightful collections. Edited and compiled by Irum Sarfaraz, the middle-school Language Arts teacher, a writer and editor by profession, original cover art by Bay Area artist Tahira Aftab, and with first grade, full cover printing, these books are an absorbing and entertaining addition to any bookshelf.

llma Voices-December, 2023

Ilma Voices is the school magazine of The Ilm Academy School in Fremont, California. The school takes great pride in its academics, especially the creative writing skills of its students, and showcases their talents in multiple student compilations, including Ilma Voices, throughout each academic year. All reflections, opinions, and essays in Ilma Voices are written exclusively by the students. The work of the students is true testament to a holistic education where students are encouraged to align their thought processes with the rapidly changing world around them through positive and meaningful written dialogue. The cornucopia of topics, reflections, and opinions in Ilma Voices would undoubtedly be a delightful read for the entire family!

Ilm Academy Yearbook 2024

‘Ilm Academy Yearbook 2024’ is a walk through the year 2023-24 in a pictorial tribute to the successes and accomplishments of the students from grades K to 11. The yearbook also showcases creative writing from middle and high school students in the form of original quotes and short fictional pieces penned by the graduating 11th grades. The yearbook invites readers to gain an introduction to Ilm’s students and their academic year 2023-24. In a nutshell, it was nothing short of spectacular!

Ilm Anthology: Vol. IX April 2024

For the ninth consecutive year, the outstandingly creative, poetic flare of the students of Ilm Academy, Fremont, is showcased in the school’s annual poetry anthology, Ilm Anthology-Vol. 9. Continuing one of the most cherished literary traditions of the school, this year’s school poetry anthology brings forth heart-warming and touching poems from the students on the theme of ‘Education’. As in every anthology, the students also explore other themes and ideas in poetic expression besides the main theme. Poetry has always remained a significant platform for the conveyance of a writer’s innermost reflections and deliberations about his world and the individuals with whom he interacts. The universal, foundational purpose of poetry, regardless of culture and language, has remain unchanged over the centuries. Ilm Academy’s anthologies brings to fore poetry with a fresh and invigorating perspective—the manner in which children and teenagers view the world around them.
